It’s time to announce the longlist for our Best Short Story for Children or Young Adults Competition 2022.
Congratulations to our incredible longlistees and to everyone who entered. Our reading team enjoyed a wide variety of stories, from quirky animal adventures for pre-schoolers to cool science fiction for young adults. Your stories were brilliant! Once again, the standard was exceptionally high and many stories only just missed being on the longlist. You are all great writers – keep going!

Our highly regarded judge, literary agent Chloe Seager, will now read the longlisted entries and decide the top 10 stories, including an overall winner. Results will be published on 20th June.
