The Sun Lantern

Spread one

(Woodland creatures are asleep across the scene)

Shh I think they’re fast asleep,

Slowly, slowly, softly creep.

Eyes are shut,

Their day is done,

At night it’s time to build the sun.

 Spread two

While most will rest their weary heads,

A chosen few will leave their beds.

Owl and Badger,

Fox and Bat,

They look around for this and that.

Spread three

(The frame of the giant lantern is being built, filling a clearing)

Fox heads out and hunts for sticks,

No need for any fancy tricks.

He’s not alone,

His friends nearby

Help the frame grow to the sky.
